One person found this helpful. I like Office Pro. I use Word, Excel, Outlook all the time. Yes, the UI is different, some like it more, some less. Well, it's a new trend, new fashion, I don't totally agree with it, but I got used to it very quickly. The Office itself is very reliable and quite fast. But it's too expensive for my taste. I have used Office Pro frequently since purchasing it 7 years ago. Recently, I had to reinstall Windows 10 and didn't think there would be an issue downloading and reinstalling Office Pro because I still had the product key. While Microsoft says they no longer support this software ok by me their web site leads one to believe it is still possible to download it with the proper key.
I called Support to ask about downloading Office Pro because I had the product key. When I gave her the key, she said it was a retail version, meaning it was not sold by them. I told her I purchased it through Amazon, but that made no difference to her. She said the seller probably resold the key to someone else??!! I feel scammed! Thinking I bought a Microsoft product after all these years and ending up with a worthless piece of paper.
I got the key card. Very pretty. Deep blue. Other than that it's worthless. I was under the impression that I would be able to download the software. Supposedly I should have gotten instructions for doing that. I didn't. Actually, it may have come at some point. However my PC crashed and I lost everything on it That was a unique event so it is not something any other buyer should worry about.
However, the whole process is clunky. By the time I could get back on line there was nothing I could do. I am not saying the product that sucks. It is the procurement process. Unless you are experienced in these kinds of purchases I would strongly recommend against it. Got new computer to replace XP and had to pick up a new Outlook. Now I can't figure out how to get my older Outlook files to this one as all.
Then I cannot write a longer note or walk away and return to finish a note because auto-save apparently has a bug that then gives an error message They changed the features much that it is not the useful program it used to be. I have been using this since early in and frankly if i weren't used to it and had known about the bugs I would just use my servers email program.
MS is not fixing the bugs. As long as they sell the software apparently they don't care. Why oh why did they ruin it!!! I loved my older version!!! The Key Card works perfectly if you just follow the simple instructions.
